Our History

Alison, the owner of Badger Ridge Farm, has grown up around horses–competing, teaching and caring for horses as a business for over 20 years. A graduate of St Andrews University, she was a member of both the ANRC and IHSA teams, competing at the national level in both. Her path took her towards AQHA hunters where she specialized in young horse development, making the perfect mounts for her junior/youth and amateur riders. Blessed with a successful career, she took time off to raise a family and in process moved to TN from WI. Her farm in WI, of the same name, produced many National level horse and rider combos and is now focusing her attention to exclusively the hunter/jumper local circuit. Our show schedule consists of shows in TN, KY and GA. Our doors officially opened in March of 2022 and we are welcoming riders of all levels as well as a few boarding spots. Please reach out to Alison with any questions on our program, farm and positive horse community we are building at Badger Ridge Farm.

Alison Koenig-Owner

This is me, in 1986, on my naughty pony Buster. He wasn't my first naughty pony, the one before that used to run me towards any water source it could find to take me swimming. All these naughty ponies never deterred me from sticking with these amazing animals. Lucky for you, we don't have naughty lesson ponies. All our lesson horses and ponies are super sweet and as safe as can be.

Since 1986, I have had a long career in horses. I went to college at St Andrews University on a riding scholarship which were some of the best years of my life. For my horse career I've focused mainly in the AQHA industry showing and teaching hunters and equitation and the occasional western horse.

I love competing, but the love of horses is my favorite thing in life. I grew up living at the barn with all my best friends, horses and kids, and I wanted to create that same environment for others. At Badger Ridge Farm and NEC, we want to bring you the fun and love of horses while also providing excellent instruction and horsemanship skills. We'd love to meet you, come ride with us!

Grace Allison-Assistant

I’m Grace, I have been around horses my entire life but did not start taking lessons until I was 5. I started showing around 11. When I was in middle school I started riding on my barns IEA team where I learned to ride various types of horses. I did IEA through high school while simultaneously showing at hunter/jumper shows.

I started riding with Mrs. Alison pretty recently but I could not ask for a better opportunity. Here at Badger Ridge, I am constantly expanding my knowledge of the sport and caring for the horses. You will often see me on the farm feeding, turning out horses, and helping with lessons. I am always available to lend a helping hand!

Ready to ride? If you’ve made it this far you are serious about finding a special place to start riding. Come ride with us and experience a caring and professional riding program.
