Alison Koenig-Owner
I like to say I was riding in the womb because my mom was an avid horse rider. She just did it for fun and trail riding and that’s how I started. Apparently when I was 5, I started following the older girls over the jumps they were doing and she decided I better start taking lessons. From that moment I have had a lot of naughty ponies and horses to teach me to be a great horseman. Lucky for you, we don’t have naughty lesson horses and ponies, just steady eddies that know their jobs very well.
I have had a long career in horses including college at St Andrews University on a riding scholarship which were some of the best years of my life. For my horse career, I’ve focused mainly in the AQHA industry showing and teaching hunters and equitation and the occasional western horse.
I love competing, but the love of horses is my favorite thing in life. I grew up living at the barn with all my best friends, horses and kids, and I wanted to create that same environment for others. At Badger Ridge Equestrian, we want to bring you the fun and love of horses while also providing excellent instruction and horsemanship skills.

Grace Allison-Assistant Trainer
I’m Grace, I have been around horses my entire life and started taking lessons when I was 5. I started showing locally around 11. When I was in middle school, I started riding on my barn’s IEA team where I learned to ride various types of horses. I did IEA through high school while simultaneously showing at hunter/jumper shows. I started riding with Alison in 2020 and began working for her a year later. She has provided me with opportunities to expand my knowledge of the sport, such as grooming for top trainers at A shows and learning how to produce green horses. Working at Badger Ridge, I ride and show our horses as well as teach lessons of all levels.

Lizzy Skaife-Barn Manager
I’m Lizzy. I have been around horses for most of my life, but I have been working with them for 10 years. I started taking lessons 4 years ago. I worked at a Morgan barn in Wisconsin before moving to Tennessee. While in WI,  I learned daily horse care. This included learning medication, diet and wound care. I also learned  proper care for mares and foals. I was also a groom at horse shows for 4 years where I learned how to work under pressure and keep on schedule. Since moving to Tennessee and working with Ms. Alison along with Ms. Grace, I continue to learn about horse care, keeping lessons on schedule, and growing as an individual. You  can always find me out in the barn either helping with lessons, daily chores, or watching lessons.
